Honest, Flavourful Food

A Few Words About Our Restaurant

The Baytree is the only independent family restaurant in the heart of Tenby’s busy high street. Our restaurant is all about quality ingredients, an inviting atmosphere and staff who go above and beyond. In summer, embrace our ‘cafe culture’ tables on the cobbles of Tenby square, or go al fresco on our more private patio area. In winter, allow us to welcome you inside for a hearty meal or a freshly ground coffee.

Family Orientated

The restaurant has been in the Davies family since 1986. Karen bought into the business in 1999, and runs it successfully alongside manager, Jan. Karen’s daughter, Katie, has finally flown the nest, but has been a huge support to the team over the years. Head Chef Luke expertly runs the kitchen alongside the front of house team, and has been doing so for over 10 years. We want you to feel like you’re family too, that’s why we cater for private dinner parties, romantic evenings and special occasions. And when we say family, we do mean the dog as well!

Location

We’re fortunate enough to be located just two minutes’ walk from Tenby Harbour, and some of the famous nearby sights. For example, Castle Beach and the mysterious St Catherine’s Island. There’s Castle Hill with the spectacular views. Not to mention the harbour itself with all of the fishing boats – the famous row of colourful houses above.

Atmosphere

The Baytree is renowned for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. With wooden furnishings, low lights and flickering candles, you’ll feel cosy and hidden in our little restaurant retreat. Twice a week (Thursday and Saturday), live music adds yet more personality and charm.  Whether you’re a regular diner or visiting for the first time, you will be made to feel like part of the family.

Exceptional Produce

Without a doubt, we know that to make great food you must start with excellent ingredients. For that reason, we take great pride in sourcing quality, local produce.

Our meat is bought from the award-winning butcher Andrew Rees of Narberth, and our fruit and vegetables are provided by Hugh Scale of Four Seasons Tenby. Where possible, our seafood is sourced from the fishermen in our very own Tenby Harbour!

Karen’s brother-in-law supplies the local ales from the hugely popular ‘Harbwr Brewery’, just a minute or so down the road. Not only beer, but tipples too – we make sure to stock a selection of local gins and whiskeys.
